Charlie & Bride are Homeless!

The Muskrat Dwelling that was so lovingly created, sank today. I know they have elaborate tunnels...did they survive? Only time will tell....

Shay making a play at Field Days

The balloon relay is always fun!

Bible Quizzing - Awana Field Days

Our club took home all the big awards...because they quiz ...the other groups need to quiz if they want to win....It is nerve racking but good for promoting Bible knowledge.

Physical Affliction Night-Awana Club Fun

Char and Shay with their rhinoplasty bandages - their noses were out of joint!!!!!

Awana Field Days

Shalayne and Char are pro's at the three legged race. They are siamese twins anyways so it is a natural thing for them to do.

Charlie's Frontyard

 Posted by Picasa

Our Week off:

I slept and slept and slept some more then I crawled out of my favourite spot in the whole world ( my bed ) and sewed and played with the kids. It was so nice to de-stress....how are we going to keep it this way is my question?
We are cutting the flyer route down in size ( thanks be to God ! ) and that will help but.....{the never ending 'but'...}
It doesn't seem like I can ever get to the gym and therefore feel like a lump....Clarence can get several workouts in but it is tough for me to sneak out...such is life.
Many crafts were made and baking was done. I have thought a lot about Father Larry's new vestments - the thinking stage is always the longest.....probably because you don't see any results till I actually start cutting and messing about. I have decide to purchase Swarkovski Crystals to embelish it. I will do some couching and I think they will be durable for their use.
I also read a little and thought a lot so I guess considering it is lent I was able to get quiet more than I usually can. Having a full house makes that part hard to achieve. The kids usually leave me alone when I am on the computer.....I guess I have growled at them enough....Also it is boring to watch someone mouse around on the computer.....so devotions using the OCA site work out great. Well I should get back to Shay's dress. The more I sew the more I learn so have no fear Father....I will get it done and it will be better than the last one...!!! I know you are not complaining but I am a bit of a perfectionist...you know that sin of pride ..etc...?? sigh

My favourite sweater is not even mine !

She looks so good in this sweater.....how did she get so grown up?
Sean took this pictue so you'll have to excuse that fact that he chopped off her head a bit.....when mom's away the mice will play, I keep having to clean the lense of his fingers prints - grrrr!

He's got a girlfriend !

It has been confirmed: Charlie has a mate. We took a close up look at his home a couple days ago. He is rather timid but if you stand real still, he comes out and gets back to work. I'll try to get a picture of his sweety soon.

Olds Kiwanis Festival

Charmayne recieved Hounours at her first piano Kiwanis Festival. She played her piece, The Old Grey Owl, perfectly. Her timing and accuracy were commented on and helpful hints on how to put more expression into the piece were expressed. She had it totally memorized and could play it a variety of ways - we didn't try the backwards method but I think she could have done it backwards too! We had supper out at Stravos and enjoyed a Mom and Daughter outing.

Muskrat Charlie & ?

It has been rumoured that Charlie has a mate.....I wonder how things will go when his architecture falls ( sinks ) to the bottom of the creek? Hopefully she is commited to their relationship.....off to pick up Chantel from work.....

Ain't we Lucky ?

Well the two days off we have taken are going well - for the kids. They are back to happy bouncey kids ....I am sick and sleeping all day....sort of doesn't seem fair.....sigh.

I woke to the sounds of giggles - they were playing a contact version of monopoly. Then the Twister came out. Sean was funny. He kept licking them when they could not get away.

Well off to feed this useless temple....

we are too tired !

We are taking a week off of school....of course not off of learning or life but everyone needs to recharge their batteries and slow down a tad ! So no formal school this week. We may sew and we may knit...no math though.

I thought it might be good to find a quiet space and hide to ... Maybe I should assign quiet for school - each kid in their own room for at least an hour...I think they would love it. Maybe we should explore hermitages as a family concept this week.....

Hard to imagine us ever slowing down -- hope we can do it......

The girls

Muskrat Charlie

You may be wondering on the progress of our friend. He/She is hard at it and since it is very cold here I think the home may stand for awhile. I wonder what will happen next week? Hopefully there are no babies to watch out for.

The whole crew

All my children. I am a rich mom.....I was told this today by a lovely woman from the Ukraine. I thinks so too! All of them good kids and very pretty ( handsome) too! My prayer is that they follow God and stay in His church. No matter what you do in life give Glory to Him who made the world.

Shay takes Bronze !

Shaylene was very nervous about her first competition but she did very well in her group dance. I think she has natural poise ! She was suffering from an ear infection and a bad cold but she carried on very well.

Char takes Bronze

Char Did very well in her first Dance competition. She enjoyed the dancing and had fun at the competition.

Bronze Medals for all

Chantel, Charmayne and friends took Bronze in their Zhuravli Ukrainina Dance Competition.

Varmits

I have been watching a muskrat for a few days building a home on top of the ice. He (or She ) has been carefully chewing open the hole each morning and bringing up mud and carefully constructing an elaborate home that as a human I can see will only melt and collaspe into the water in a few weeks. It seems it is kind of like how our lives are when we work so hard at this life and forget about our eternal life. God must look at us like I look at the poor doomed muskrat. Mixed pity and humour...well I am sure He does not smirk at our weaknesses like I do at that poor creatures. Well off to feed this earthly home.........
